Guy Coker – Lead Guitar

Guy Coker’s love affair with music began in 1977 at just 14 years old, inspired by the raw power and musicianship of bands like Led Zeppelin, UFO, Cheap Trick, Black Sabbath, and Aerosmith. That spark quickly became a lifelong pursuit.

Over the past 47+ years, Guy has played in numerous bands throughout Northern California, sharing the stage with exceptional musicians and performing at some of the region’s most iconic venues, including The Stone, The Omni, Ruthie’s Inn, The Keystone, One Step Beyond, The Whisky, The Roxy, and The Mason Jar.

From the very first time he picked up a guitar, Guy has been on a relentless quest for the perfect tone. In 1994, that pursuit took a groundbreaking turn. Frustrated by wireless systems that failed to deliver the feel and sound of a cable, Guy merged his passion for music with his engineering expertise. The result was the development of the first-ever digital wireless system, leading to the introduction of XWire Digital Wireless™ to the world.

Since then, Guy has remained at the forefront of wireless innovation, collaborating with industry leaders such as Sennheiser®, X2 Digital Wireless™, Line 6®, Yamaha®, DW Drums®, and Roland®. His mission has always been clear: help musicians achieve uncompromised tone and performance freedom through advanced digital wireless technology.

Despite his engineering achievements, Guy’s heart has always belonged to the stage and the studio.

In 2019, he returned to his roots by reuniting with former bandmates from ScrewDriver Smile™ to release the album Madison’s Mischief. Serving as writer, lead vocalist, guitarist, recording engineer, and producer, Guy brought the project fully to life. He followed that success with 2022’s Shadows of a Sin, created alongside former members of Scarlett™, once again taking on the roles of writer, lead guitarist, vocalist, engineer, and producer. The album featured the standout track “Around,” further showcasing his signature sound and creative evolution.

Reignited by the joy of recording, Guy stepped back onto the live circuit at the end of 2022, performing with multiple bands across Sacramento and the Bay Area. Today, he continues to balance innovation and artistry—driven by the same passion that started it all in 1977: the relentless pursuit of great tone and great music.
